Privacy Policy

Last updated July 2, 2026

ForeverLineage is a private family-tree service, run as a personal project by an individual (not a company). This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We keep it plain: ForeverLineage is private by default — we don’t run ads, and we don’t sell your data.

Information we collect

  • Account information — your email address, username, and (optionally) your name, so you can sign in and we can contact you about your account.
  • Family-tree content you create — the people, dates, places, relationships, notes, and photos you add to your family tree.
  • Technical and security records — limited logs of important actions (for example sign-ins and email sends) that help us keep accounts secure and diagnose problems.
  • Essential cookies — used only to keep you signed in. We don’t use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

How we use your information

We use your information solely to provide and maintain the service: to authenticate you, store and display your family tree, send transactional email (such as verification and password-reset messages), and protect against abuse. We do not use your data for advertising, and we do not sell or rent it to anyone.

Service providers

A few trusted providers process data on our behalf, only as needed to run ForeverLineage:

  • Supabase — authentication (sign-in and account identity).
  • Resend — delivery of transactional email.
  • Cloudflare — network delivery, security, and privacy-friendly, cookieless website analytics (aggregate visit counts; no personal profiles).

Who can see your family tree

Your family tree is visible only to you and the members you invite, with the access level (viewer or editor) you assign. Family owners manage membership and can remove members. Please invite only people you trust.

Information about other people

A family tree naturally contains information about relatives. When you add details about other people, you’re responsible for doing so respectfully and lawfully. Be especially thoughtful with information about living people, and remove anything a relative reasonably asks you to.

Retention and deletion

We keep your information for as long as your account is active. You can ask us to delete your account and its associated data at any time by contacting us at the address below; we’ll remove it, except where we’re required to retain limited records.

Security

We protect your data with encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls, and hashed passwords. No online service can promise perfect security, but we take reasonable measures to safeguard your information.

Children

Accounts are intended for adults. A family tree may include information about children when added by an adult family member; that adult is responsible for that content.

Your rights and where your data is stored

You can review and edit most of your information directly in the app. You can also ask us to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, or to restrict or object to certain processing — just email us at the address below. If you live in a region with data-protection laws (such as the EU, the UK, or California), you have these rights under those laws, and you may also lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.

ForeverLineage relies on the service providers named above (Supabase, Resend, and Cloudflare), which may store or process data on servers in the United States or other countries. By using the service, you understand that your information may be processed outside the country where you live.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we’ll revise the “Last updated” date above.
